Anyone ever run a triathlon?

Postby npweightloss on Mon Dec 29, 2008 12:49 pm

So I've set a goal to run a triathlon. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me or knew of a pool I could use. Thanks

what are the distances for this tri
Pool swims are great, but do some open water swims (lakes, ponds or ocean) too.
also practice running after biking
I only done two, so I'm no expert.

Just keep moving forward,

1/2 mile swim, 12 mi. bike, and 5K. It's a sprint. Thought it'd be a good idea to start small. I'd love to do some open water swimming, but don't really have a place.

I have done just a serious triathlon, the Eagleman Triathlon. It was fun; however, I realized I am the worst cyclist in the world. I am a slow swimmer but can survive  . The bike? I don't think so!

We were planning to have a relay team for the Ochsner Ironman New Orleans 70.3 Triathlon but could not find someone crazy enough to swim the 1.2-mile leg.
Nick, would not you like to join a PBP team and swim the 1.2m leg in New Orleans in March 15? After that event you will easily be able to do any other distance!! :P

where and when is this Tri you want to do? I might try it too! The swim seems to long to go with a 12 m bike and 5K run? As far as pools you can join the "Y", USM has the Payne Center and The Wellness Center has a pool at Wesley Hospital. As the weather warms, I hoping to join several others @ Lake Serene.
