The last couple of months I have been running 15-20 miles per week with a speed workout every week. The last 4 hard workouts have been the following:
1mile warmup
6 X 800- 2min40sec (2 min rec)
1mile cooldown
1 mile warmup
12 x 400- 1min16sec (1 min rec)
1 mile cooldown
1 mile warmup
12 X 400- 1min13sec (1min rec)
1 mile cooldown
1 mile wamrup
2 X 800- 2min32 sec (2min rec)
begin 400s 2 min after 2nd 800m rep
8 x 400- 1min15sec (1min rec)
1 mile cooldown
After taking 6 months off after the Labor Day race because my ankle was injured. I returned to running in April and the ankle hurt the first day back. Not as bad as in Sept. of last year but the nagging pain was there. I hope I can continue with at least 20 miles a week with one hard workout in there and stay healthy enough not to hobble around. Will be in Hattiesburg for the next week and looking forward to seeing everyone next Tues pm at Thames track.
