i'm glad to have today's run out of the way. 12 was the plan and that is what joni and i did. we ran really well despite the heat and aching legs. my attempts at hydrating yesterday must have worked cause i felt decent for most of the run. i'm glad to have gotten it in. we all need to keep going right now despite our lack of motivation due to the weather.
i am resting, napping for the remainder of the afternoon, untill i have to work. _________________ Run! For your life.

You two did have a good run. I'm glad that I was smart enough to know there was no way I should even think of attempting to hang with you. Let's just say that Joni and Dawn started with Vicki and me, but they were very quickly just a speck in the distance.
The humidity was much lower today. We sure needed a break. _________________ Becky Ryder

Took Sunday off, not my plan really, but it happened.
I did 5 miles this morning, 4 of those with Vicki. Tonight, I will teach class after work. _________________ Run! For your life.

Today, 5 miles at Canebrake with Amber and Ginny. It was a very muggy morning, but we had a good run despite. They were being champs and doing 10!
Tonight, I'll do some sort of cross training for 45 minutes or so then maybe some weights. Not feeling those lately so we'll see what happens. _________________ Run! For your life.

I didn't do any additional cross training last night because I just didn't feel like it. I've not been feeling too great the last few days, all week actually, so my training has suffered a little. I'm getting my needed runs in for the marathon, but that's about it.
Vicki and I did 5 miles this morning, but we skipped our tempo run that we were supposed to do. She was exhausted from opening the Sorority Village yesterday on campus and working outside all day, and I just felt like a$$. So, we just ran and made the best of it.
I came home afterward and started feeling a little lightheaded. I know what you guys are going to say - drink water, take precaution in the heat, blah blah blah. I'm doing all of that, in fact, I'm being extra careful, so I have no idea. I'm just dealing with it and hoping it passes soon. _________________ Run! For your life.

Last night, ended up having to teach the cycling class so I got a pretty good workout in. Went home and was in bed by 8:45!!!!
Today, will be helping with the first round of freshman move-in on campus. Probably enough of a workout for me! _________________ Run! For your life.

I thought my quads would be the problem after going up and down stairs yesterday (helping with freshman move-in) for about 3 1/2 hours, but it was my calves!
Today's run was 14. I did 6 before meeting Vicki to finish up the last 8. I felt great, and I didn't really start feeling the miles until within the last mile. I was very happy about that.
Despite a good friend helping rub out some of the calf soreness, I am having trouble walking tonight! I'm hoping tomorrow will be easier. _________________ Run! For your life.

Yesterday was a complete rest day. My legs and body needed the rest after Friday's move-in. Wow!
Today, still a little sore, but went on with my 6 miles. I did 1 mile then met Vicki for 5. We kept a good, solid pace, mostly because I vented the whole way! Those are good runs!
Great indoor cycling class at IWSM last night if I must say so myself! _________________ Run! For your life.

had to work late yesterday so no working out was done. it's ok, it was a mile 18 day. actually, it's a mile 18 week!
this morning, ran 1 mile, then met vicki for 6. was hard to get out of bed today, but we had a good run. i'm off work the next two days so i'm looking forward to a little extra sleep and some good workouts! _________________ Run! For your life.

I just knew you couldn't resist; you're taking a day off from work to shop at Hudson's. I haven't yet made it there to see what they have. As soon as I do I will report back to the group (unless Dawn gets there before me). _________________ Becky Ryder

Guess I won't be using my time off to go to Hudson's. So disappointing.
Tonight, 45 minutes on the bike doing some intervals. 20 minutes rowing as hard as I could. Then some ab work and stretching. I liked that I got a couple of hours of cardio in today. _________________ Run! For your life.

This morning, I ran 6 miles easy at about 8:45. Too late for me to run really, and it was tough. There isn't much shade on the Trace and it got pretty warm. Luckily it's pretty dry so the humidity wasn't as bad.
Later today, weights and the afternoon cycling class. _________________ Run! For your life.

this morning i met amber at canebrake for our 16 mile run. she and i were to run 3 laps and add a little on to the third one. margie ran the first two laps with us, and ginny joined us for the second and part of the third. that girl is an animal. she left us on the third lap to do some interval work, after doing her long run already this week. she's really training well right now, and i'm so excited for her. we ran into ashley who ran the second lap with us as well. it made for a great day and a run that went by relatively fast.
we ran well. these girls push me, which i need! i haven't looked at the average pace of the run, because we walked a little at spots, but when i watched my pace on my garmin, we were under 9 at times, but never over 9:30. as much as it is painful for me, this is the kind of long run i need.
next weekend.....18... _________________ Run! For your life.

today, i hit the gym for some recovery work. i did an hour on the bike change speed and intensity in 5 minute increments, including standing. i feel like it worked some of the kinks out from yesterday, and i was able to get a good workout as well. i also did 15 minutes on the rowing machine, ab work, and finished with some stretching. _________________ Run!
