I will be running Downtown Hattiesburg in attempt to mark a 5K course for a race that will take place in Oct. 1, 2009. That's right a 5k downtown on a Thursday evening! Would anyone like to help? If so, meet me behind the Jackie D Sherrill Comm. Center‎ @ 3:30 pm this Sunday March 1 (or according to Nestor 2-39-09).

Because of the railroads and a desire to keep the race in a small area, the course will be a single loop run twice for the proper mileage (3.11).

Any and all help this Sunday will be appreciated (in other words, “I'll buy the first round”. )

Charles, Any other info on this 5k? I love the idea of a downtown race AND a race late in the P.M.!

This was a walk for Breast Cancer Awareness last year and now they want to have a run. The walk will happen again along with the 5k run. Susan Bone is Audrey contact see email (dated 1/14/09) below:

Initially I will be the contact person for putting this race into place. That person may change as we get closer to the event. So, yes you can email me the form and we understand and agree with the policy that Becky discussed with me. Yes we would like assistance with the clock and mapping out a course. We do have a general route but would be open to your suggestions. October 1 is a Thursday and last year we started the walk around 5:30-6:00 and had plenty of light and safety.

I will get you the flyer when ready. I’ll meet with you related to the course whenever you are available. If possible a weekend may be better.
