I see that the duathon was cancelled for March 28th. A few friends and I were really looking forward to it. I am a beginner... others are more more experienced, but we are all anxious to try it.

Just trying to see if anyone would be interested in doing one around Lake Serene area. I see some previous notes that most will be in Mobile that weekend, so a firm date doesn't have be set today.

I'm not sure of how to even get this off the ground, so if anyone has any advice, I will gladly take it.

That's a little too much for me to start off with. This last one caught my eye because it was a 2-10-2. There is another soon, but I don't really care to drive to birmingham.

Bummer about the duathlon. I will be willing to TRY and put one on, IF I can get some ( @ 15-20) volunteers to help. The date of March 28, is 4 1/2 weeks away. That would be a good date for all the people in the area doing the New Orleans half-IronMan the following weekend. (We can use it for a speed session.) So how about it, volunteers?! Let me know if you, or someone you know, is available to help on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from @ 7:30 to 10:30 am. Also, if anyone has connections/ contacts for prizes, awards, etc., let me know that, too!

Ben, you could probably pull it off in 4 1/2 weeks, but it would be a lot of work in a short amount of time. I know I could not do it. You may consider putting it on without a lot of fuss and frills, just maybe getting people together to do it as a time trial/practice sort of thing. Anyway, just a thought. If I can help, let me know, I will do what I can.
