I really do not what to revise the running with headphones discussion, but I thought some of you might be interested in learning that USATF has changed their rules.

Basically, this is the new rule "The Games Committee for an LDR event may allow the use of portable listening devices not capable of receiving communication; however, those competing in Championships for awards, medals, or prize money may not use such devices."
