There were 10 of us at the track tonight. Audrey, Terry and Ginny did mile repeats. Vicki, Becky, Mike, Dee and Eric did 400-600-800-600-400. I'm not exactly sure about the woriout for Scott and Jamie. Including WU and CD we all did a total of about 5 miles---except for Terry who did more. Come on out and join us next week.

Final Week

Postby ryderruns on Tue Nov 18, 2008 10:29 pm

Tonight was the final week for speed work in preparation for Hobble Gobble. It was quite cool (cold) and I was concerned that no one would show at Thames. When I got there Terry was already doing his workout as he is tapering for his marathon.

I was alone at the scheduled start time and since my hamstrings were still a bit sore from Saturday's race, I decided to do something a little less difficult than the whistle drill: 4 x 100, 3 x 200, 2 x 400 and 1 x 800 at 5K race pace and with equal distance jog recovery. Just as I was getting started, here came Audrey. Then Kily showed up, followed by Eric, Susan and Mike. I think Susan ran a total of 4 miles and rest of us did 5 miles.

It was a beautiful evening and it really felt good when we had finished. I appreciate that Kily and Audrey came looking for me when they realized that my car was still in the parking lot, but they couldn't find me. I had taken to the streets for my cooldown. It's nice to have such good friends.
