Labor Your Legs 5K

Postby ryderruns on Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:40 am

Entry forms for Labor Your Legs 5K are now available for download from the Pacer website. Last year we ran out of shirts, so I would suggest that you get your entry in early. Also, if you pre-register, you will get the Pacer discount. Otherwise, on race day, everyone will pay $25.

Becky, I will help with the race, while Audrey runs. I am going to run the Tupelo Half Marathon (14.2 miler) on Aug. 31, so I will not be running this race. Let me know how I can help

Thanks everyone in advance for your patience. Becky and Keith are closely monitoring the storm and will get back to you on the status of the race. We want to do this race as much as all of you want to run this race, but we also want to insure the safety of everyone involved. As soon as Becky and Keith come to a decision, everyone will be notified via e-mail or the forum. Thanks again, Audrey
Catch you on the run!! Audrey

The race is on

Labor Your Legs 5K, which was a victim of Gustav will be held Saturday, September 13 at Cloverleaf Center at 7:30 am. Registration will begin at 6:30 am. We have about 120 pre-registered entries and all of you who registered early will get a shirt. We are ordering more shirts so if you register early on the 13th you are more likely to get a shirt.

Check out the Pacer web site for additional information and to download the entry form.

Looks like the race is on! It appears Ike is headed west of us. I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday. We have ordered extra shirts so if you are not pre-registred get there early. Registration starts at 6:30 AM. If you do not plan to run I can sure use the help as course monitors. The police department has assured me we will have 2 cars Saturday but as you know there are several busy intersections. If you would like to help I can be emailed at www.keithusm@bellsouth.net

Anyone planning to run this course BEFORE Saturday? I know this is something that is done a few days before Labor Day in order to get folks there to stuff bags. I've just had a few asking that cannot make the run on Saturday.

Charles says he will do it tomorrow if enough interest is shown!! The bags are already taken care of, so no help is needed in that area. (Unless Keith has something else done). How bout you girl? Are you running again? How is your little one doing? If you aren't doing the race Saturday, come out tomorrow and run the course for fun!! If anyone is interested, let Charles know.

Sweet of you to ask - I am running a little. Kelton, Kaley & I ran the 5k at JCJC this past Saturday. She did great - slept most of the way. I ran and walked it and finished under 40 min - not great, but feels really good to be back. We'll get better as we go.

My younger sister is starting to walk and run a little and I am so proud of her! JC was her first 5k and was very inspiring. She is really pumped and I can't wait to introduce her to some of the wonderful folks in this group like you and Charles.

I've got a baby shower early Saturday so I will not be at the Labor Run; however, Andy was asking for me to post to see if someone would run the route before then.

I actually posted this question for Andy and Rick Miley; however, I am now trying to make arrangements so that I can do this. I would actually be running/walking so probably be by myself with Kaley but would like to do the distance.

WHAT TIME? It would 6 or 630 before we could make it there since we get off at 5.
