Just a reminder---if anyone wants to use the Pacer equipment, the "Clock Use Policy" must be followed. If anyone asks you about using the clock, please refer them to the policy or have them contact me if they have questions.

Anita Sumrall will not need the equipment this weekend.

Anita does not need the clock. She said that she would use one from her church. Ben has the clock and will keep it until after the Acorn 5K. I will then get it from him for use at Shelia Eaton's event.

I'm already getting requests to reserve the clock for next year (2010). Please be aware that the clock is now reserved for these dates:

Marlene Shivers would like to reserve the clock for Oct. 31. She is a PBP member, and aware of the terms. Her flyer will be posted soon. Her race is the 1st Annual Harvest Hustle.

According to my records, Christy Turner has reserved the clock for that day. I have emailed her to make sure she still wants it on that date.

I did get a response from Christy Turner that she will be needing the clock for October 31. She had reserved it with me several weeks/months ago and because of me being out of town, I had not updated the information that is on the forum.

I think both the Family Y and Wesley still have clocks, although I'm not sure if thery are in good working order. I suggest that she check with them.

Christy has informed me that she will not be the person responsible for the clock for the South Central 5K, therefore, I have removed it from the reservations.

At Sunday's meeting, the clock use policy was discussed and it was decided to continue with what we have in place. In addition, we have an attorney who has volunteered to write a contract that will be used when a deposit is required. The policy and current reservations will soon be posted on the first page of the Pacer website, in addition to continuing to provide updates on this forum.

Here is the policy and the latest reservations:

PINE BELT PACERS CLOCK USE POLICY/RESERVATIONS

The Pine Belt Pacers own a large race clock and a small printer/timer which are used for running/walking events. The replacement value of this equipment is approximately $4000. The equipment was purchased with the intent that it would be used at club events.

Recently, the club has experienced a large number of requests for use of the clock at non-club events. These requests have become so numerous that the club has established a policy for the use of this equipment.

Beginning January 1, 2009, the following policy will be in effect for use of
the clock and the printer/timer:

1. Club member Becky Ryder will serve as reservation coordinator for this equipment. A reservation calendar will be published on the Pacer website and the information will also be available on the club forum.

2. The officer who currently has the club trailer will be responsible for
inspecting the equipment prior to use and will repeat the inspection upon
the return of the equipment.

3. The first priority for use will be the events which are sponsored by the
Pine Belt Pacers. These events are known as club events and a club member is designated as event Director.

4. Pacer officers are allowed to use the clock on a first come basis.

5. Non-officer members who wish to use the clock will be asked to provide a $300 deposit which will be returned when the equipment is returned without damage/in good working order.

6. Non-members will not be allowed to use the clock.
