The Poplarville Relay for Life committee is planning a 5K/1mi. fun run to raise runds for the American Cancer Society's signature event. The tentative date is 5/16/09 at 0800. The route will be the same as the annual Blueberry Jubilee 5K that's held in June. This would be a great practice run for anybody wanting to do the Blueberry Run this year. More details to follow...

This is what I know...
The race will be held on the morning of the Poplarville Relay for Life: Saturday, May 16, 2009 @ 8:00 a.m.
There will only be a 5K (to my knowledge at this point).
The run will not follow the Blueberry course. It will begin & end on the Pearl River Community College campus.

Thanks for the info, my daughter n law teaches at Poplarville and told me about this race, my son Greg is doing very well in the Couch to 5 K training program, this will be his first race and we will be running together..

Hope to see many of the Pine Belt Pacers at the race...

Race Categories - Junior ages 13 and under
Adult Male ages 14-59
Adult Femail ages 14-59
Senior ages 60+
Relay Bucks will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners from each category. Relay Bucks are redeemable for food and beverages at any booth the day of the event.
Registration: Registration will take place Saturday, May 16, at the ticket booth located at the PRCC football stadium beginning @ 8:00 a.m. No pre-registration. Participants 17 and under must hav a parent present at time of registration.
Participation Fee - Generous Donation to the ACS

Hey Pacers! We are ready for our 1st annual Relay 5K in Poplarville. As with most things Relay, the run is a fundraiser but it's also a team competition. I am the team captain for the Poplarville UPPER Elementary team. So, if you come to run and haven't been asked to represent a certain team yet, please register under my team! That means that the money you donate will go down as money raised by Poplarville Upper Elementary Team in the team fundraising competition. Thanks a bunch!
