After waking up to rain, then sleet, and then snow, I finally got in my long run! An AWESOME 13 miles in a time of 1:50 which averaged out to about 8:29 a mile. My last 5 or so miles were probably an average of 8:15.
Not a bad run on my 35th birthday! _________________ Run! For your life.

Thanks Audrey, yesterday was a good, but tough, day. I'm a bit sore today so I went to the gym to bike for about an hour. I did a little stretching afterward. Overall, the soreness loosened up so it as a good workout. _________________ Run! For your life.

Congratulations! Happy Birthday+1!!!
I wish I looked like you when I was 35 (loooooong ago!)
You are ready for a 3:58 time in New Orleans! --- I am losing my marathon base very quickly, so I don't even know whether it would be a good idea for me to try the Mardi Gras Marathon any more.
Anyway, if not, I will still run the half in New Orleans and the week before the half in Pensacola too.
Again, congratulation in your first 35!!! (or you said 25?)

5 mile recovery run this afternoon. Took it pretty easy as my legs were pretty tight. I ended up running the last mile as hard as I could and it felt great. Following the run, I taught a really good spin class. It's funny, the class was full of young people, and they suffer much more than my older crowd. _________________ Run! For your life.

Tonight, a really HARD spin class. I wasn't teaching, but I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It was a great workout. Day off from running. Back at it tomorrow. _________________ Run! For your life.

This morning 6 miles with most of it at tempo. Total time was 52:56. I did a little warming up, and then it took me a little bit to get going. My miles shaped up like this - 9:30 (half of that was a warmup), 8:53, 8:48, 8:38, 8:24, and 8:41 (tried to slow down for a cooldown, but just kept going). You can see how I struggled at the beginning, but then was able to pick it up. That's my style, start slow, get faster.
Tonight, a solid hour bike ride at the Wesley for recovery. _________________ Run! For your life.

Last night, 6 miles easy around campus and on the Trace with Vicki. I'm pretty tired this week after several hard runs lately. Today will be a complete day of rest in preps for tomorrow's long run and next week. _________________ Run! For your life.

Friday was a complete off day for a little extra rest. Saturday looks like it will be too, but it wasn't planned. Another Saturday morning run foiled by weather! I won't be getting in later today due to some things I have to do, so let's hope for tomorrow! _________________ Run! For your life.

FINALLY, some sunny weather and no rain!!! I was able to get in my 18 miles this afternoon. I ran the first 10 myself, then Vicki, my faithful partner, met me for the last 8. I probably ran a little harder than I should have in the first 10, but I held on and managed to finish the entire 18 in 2:40:33. Vicki was a champ in making sure I got those last 8 miles in holding on to that 9 min. pace. Overall, I averaged 8:55 for the whole 18. It was a good day. _________________ Run! For your life.

45 minute spin class, that I taught. Pretty tough class! Followed by some ab work that will probably leave me hurting when I laugh tomorrow. _________________ Run! For your life.

A very slow, easy 7 miles this morning before work. I was still feeling the 18 from Sunday afternoon so I couldn't push it at all. Tonight, I will do spin class after work, followed by some stretching. _________________ Run! For your life.

Tonight, 6 x 800 from the Gateway to the 1/2 marker. I think the first one was about 3:40, second was 3:34, third was 3:40, fourth was 3:32, fifth was 3:40, and sixth was 3:34. I had a 1/2 mile warmup and cool down to total 4 miles. Vicki and Jim did the workout with me. Jim, of course, gave us a head start. _________________ Run! For your life.
