I want to put in a plug for what I think is going to be a really good race. About 6 months ago, Pacer Shelia Eaton, met with me about planning a 5K as a part of the Relay for Life effort. At the time that Shelia selected her date, there were no other races listed in the area. Now there is another race scheduled for the Trace on the same day---April 26. Both races are for very worthy causes.

Today I met with Sheilia and we measured and marked the Petal course. It is a very scenic, relatively flat out and back beginning and ending at Petal HS. If you are wavering between which race to do on April 26 and you want to get away from races on the Trace, I hope that you will consider entering the Cancer KO 5K. I think she already has over 50 entries so it should have good competition.

Entry forms are available at Soccer Locker and City Runners and I will have some with me at the Sunday meeting. Forms are also available for download from the Pacer website.

I met with Shelia today and she showed me the awards. You might want to do this race just to get one. Age group winners will get running caps. You know the kind with coolmax material on the top and mesh on the sides. They are tan and have some kind of race logo. Very nice.
