Hello all! I'm a novice Ironman racer looking to train for the 2009 New Orleans Half Ironman in April. Anyone willing to meet up for multisport training during the week? Running/Cycling? I'm a USM grad student so I have access to USM's pool. Just looking for social opportunities and some competitive spirit!
Thanks to Vicki and Dawn for chating up the Pacers with me yesterday.

Please come to our Cinco De Mayo event and you will meet many people who are training for such events. Sheryl will be there, Jim, and numerous other Pacers who can let you know when and where they are training. I will be there and hope to do more biking with Sheryl so maybe you can get together with us for some bike rides. Hope to see you there!

I assume this will be your first half (????). I don't know if you have already done or are aware of some of the other races in this area but there are several worth doing this summer. I am a big fan of duathlons in part due to the fact that my swimming stinks, and also because doing a few duathlons makes triathlons seem easy in comparison. Woolmarket #2 and #3 are coming up in May and June (gulfcoastrunningclub.org) and while they are really short races, they are very competitive and well organized events.

I have always liked the Meridian Sunfish (meridianathletic.com) - although it is significantly shorter this year and at a different location, I would still like to do it because it has always been such a well organized event. I have heard that the new location is moderately rolling (as the old bike course was) which I prefer to flat courses.

As Audrey says, come out Monday and find out what everyone is up to.
