I am new to this forum and was just wondering if anyone would be running in the blueberry jubilee. I was also wondering if anyone of you may have ran in the disney marathon in 02'. I ran in it and since have had two children and I am trying to get back into running. I am married and have two wonderful children.

Currently, I can't plan this far in advance (it's unbelieveable, but we are still remodeling) but I would love to run this race. Will be a last minute deal if I can make it. I am also considering the 1/2 marathon in Ridgeland at the end of June.

Runnerg - you gonna make it to the Blueberry 5k? I am still deciding, and have a 12 miler on Thur. so it will be a last minute decision for me. Also, I may be heading to South LA, so anyway, not sure if I will make it, what about you?
Anyone else heading to Poplarville for the HOT/Hilly run?
If I decide to go, it will be scary. I haven't run a 5k since mid March which is a VERY long time for me. Not even sure what to expect anymore, especially on the hills.

Although I've only run 9 miles this week, I think I'm going to do the Blueberry 5K. I know it will be difficult, especially that hill that comes in the last half mile or so. I just feel I need to do a race in order to jump-start my motivation to train. I slighly injured my left foot last week (symptoms are the same as PF, but go away after stretch and massage) and that is what has kept me from training. It think it's OK, but now I seem to have trouble getting motivated to run much over 3-4 miles and certainly not any speed training.
This too shall pass. _________________ Becky Ryder

I am sure most of us will just show up and run. As it turns out, Chad has a cancellation and will be able to run the race on Sat. We will get there around 7:20 and sign up for the race, and then a little later we will do a 10-15 minute warm-up. I am not familiar with the set-up so I am not sure about a meeting place. I will wear a sleeveless running shirt that says 26.2 ... Respect the distance on the front ,and on the back it says ..... I am a runner. That way you should be able to find me. Please introduce yourself. I would love to meet you.
I am glad to see that some Pacers will be there. I thought I was going to be a lonely runner.

Ginny- hey, well hopefully I will be able to meet some of you there tomorrow. I will be the only dummy wearing a black shirt. I wasn't sure if it might rain or not and most of my shirts are white so didn't want to get caught in an embarrassing moment

Tough run today - hills, heat, no good tunes = BAD RACE 24:41
As posted earlier, this was my first 5k since mid March and wasn't sure what to expect, but I really didn't expect it to be this slow. This spring I ran my pr in the 5k which was 23:06, I also ran 23:28 and 23:32, earlier this year. Obviously these were not in the heat and not on hills, but I still didn't think it would be this bad. I have to get back to my consistent speed work for 5ks. In the late winter/early spring I was focusing on 200s which helped a lot. Currently I have done limited speed workouts and the speed that I have done has been more focused toward the half marathon that I will be running later this month. What now you ask? The next 2 weeks I will continue getting ready for the half, then I will taper my training for 1-2 weeks for a slight break, then I will work on speed work focused on 5ks for a while. I really want to go into the late summer and fall with some quality 5k training.
I really enjoyed being back at the races. It was really nice to meet runnerg. She will hopefully, soon be a great addition to the Pinebelt Pacers. I also had a chance to visit with Terry, Jeff, Becky, Frank, Chad and Scott (from South LA). I am missing seeing Nestor at the races, it just doesn't seem the same.

YEAH I AGREE WITH GINNY TODAY WAS VERY HOT AND THE RUN WAS NOT SLIGHTLY HILLY LIKE THE DESCRIPTION SAID, IT WAS REALLY HILLY IN MY OPINION. BUT BESIDES THE HEAT IT WAS FUN JUST BEING OUT THERE WITH OTHERS. I AM SO USE TO RUNNING ALONE. I SURPRISED MYSELF TODAY I JUST STARTED BACK INTO MY RUNNING AND HAVE BEEN LEISURELY RUNNING I SUPPOSE B/C I CUT NEARLY NINE MINS OFF OF MY TIME TODAY. I ENDED WITH 26.45. I AM LOOKIN FORWARD TO MORE RUNS. SORRY I DIDN'T GET TO TALK LONGER-GINNY. BOTH OF MY CHILDREN WERE THERE SO I HAD TO GET BACK TO THEM I AM SURE THIER DADDY HAD HIS HANDS FULL WHICH SOMETIMES DADS NEED SO THEY UNDERSTAND RIGHT!! WELL IT WAS NICE TO MEET YOU AND HOPE TO MEET ALL OF YOU SOON
