Charles's Knee

Postby action jackson on Fri Apr 17, 2009 8:28 pm

Ok, Charles has been struggling with a knee injury. He finally went to the DR. He has a possible meniscus tear. The only way to know for sure is to do an MRI, then, to fix it, he would need surgery. So, the Dr. recommended take some time off from running. He can swim, do light weights, excercise within painfree range, but no running. If in a month, he runs and is still experiencing pain, he will need that MRI. He is discouraged, and feeling a little bummed about the whole thing. His running was going well, he was actually training, and getting fast. As I told him, we all have set backs, he will recover, and some cross training and strentgh training, may do him good. It is just a bitter pill to swallow at this time. As all of us know, when we have to take time off, we get a little bit crazy. We will keep you updated.
Catch you on the run!! Audrey

Been there, done that! Stay positive, get it fixed if needed and EASE back into it. Like you I was running very well when I tore mine and put surgery off over a year, should have went on and got it repaired. I was actually walking the next day.

Hey Charles, we need you back and soon!! I hope you have a quick recovery. I need to "fight" with someone at the end of the races to improve my time!
Get some rest and see you soon in the races!
