Glad to hear they opened the online registration again!
Is there any brave cyclist out there who could join me in the venture?

I will swim the 1/2 mile an run the 7 miles of heat and hills if I can find a crazy pacer who may enjoy riding 27.5 miles of rolling hills

If someone is interested in making a team, let me know soon. I though about doing the whole Tri, but definitely, there is not way I can handle the bike section! (for me that is literally a pain in the butt!)

 You people are crazy! You know I HATE hills! :x I think you also know I'm a sucker. Raul - if you motivation to do this race is to get a t-shirt, I'll consider it because I can guarantee that I'll be so slow, that's about all we'd get. I don't mind as much when my slowness affects me, but I don't like hold anyone else up. So . . . . .

Jen Torres???

I think you should contact Jen Torres and she if she will do the bike, then Susan could do the swim and Raul the run.

Hi Susan! You know I don't care about awards. 8) -- I just like to participate and have fun in these events, especially when they talk about team competition. I am not a fast swimmer or runner either! so if you are up to the challenge... let me know, and we could sign it tomorrow before registration closes.

Dream Team

Postby GottaTri on Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:57 pm

Alrighty then! Raul is freakin' persuasive. He has compiled a dream team for the Heart of Dixie Triathlon.

Nestor Raul "The Fastest Columbian in MS" Anzola - swimming 1/2 mile
Susan "The Energizer Bunny" Davidson - biking 27.5 miles
Becky "The Boss" Ryder - running 7 miles

Now aren't the rest of you jealous that you're not gonna be in on all this FUN?!

I've never been to Louisville, Philadelphia, or Kosciusko; but after this, I'll be able to say, "Been there! Done that! Got the T-shirt!" Hopefully, my iron butt will hold out. : )

I have lost my mind

Postby ryderruns on Mon Jul 20, 2009 9:54 am

Yesterday I had my first good run in at least 3 weeks. I was feeling so good about that and fell under the spell of that Crazy Colombian. I don't know what came over me---I agreed to do the 7 mile running leg of the triathlon. Normally, this would not be a problem---except that I haven't done a 7 mile run since March 23. I've been concentrating on being in hiking shape, not running.

Oh well! I have this theory that a person can "race" 2.5 time their average daily distance. Oh No! For the past 6 weeks, my average daily distance has been about 2 miles. That means that I may be walking by the time I get to the 5 mile point.

As Audrey says, It's all good!

Becky, don't worry about running 7 superhilly miles! - Everyhting will be fine! Because a glitch in the online registration site, our order of competition has been changed. What does it mean?

1. Becky The Boss Ryder will start for the team and swim the half mile! then... Nestor Raul, the Fastest Coach Potato, will ride the 27.5 miles in his bicycle and finally, Susan the Energizer Bunny Davidson will run the 7 miles that take us to the Neshoba Fair. Hollie The Rock Ryder will wailt for us with some Margaritas at the end of the course.

I hope you have a lot of fun in the lake!!! -- It's all good!
