Did any of you happen to see this in the Hattiesburg American:

They will be having a 5K at USM on Sunday, November 8 in the afternoon.

i'm glad to see that they have changed the date. I knew they were going to do it at a different time of the year. it's been a problem the last couple of years with it being at the beginning of spring break. they do such a good job with it so hopefully there won't be any conflicts this year.

Frank just asked about this, so I'll get it back to the top. Notice in my original post there is a link to a Hattiesburg American article. That's all I know about it.

I know some students who are Kappa Deltas and I want to remind everyone about this race. The proceeds go to help prevent child abuse. When I participated in the event in the past it was well organized and full of cheering volunteers. I don't know what their race route is but I expect to find ample volunteers along the course to provide directions.

Registration starts at 1 p.m.; race starts at 2 p.m. at the Payne Center; $15 gets you race entry and a t shirt.

Don't forget about this race today - it is for a good cause. If you register (and remember) and are asked who referred you, one of my recreation students is call Beth Turner and she gets credit for bringing in race participants.

Maybe I will see some of you later...
