I would like to do the billboard run on Thurs. Please post by Wed. pm, if anyone is interested. I will not be there unless some other crazy runners are willing to join me. I am thinking 6:30 pm at the Shell, but I am flexible. If no one has posted by Wed. pm, I will do my repeats Thurs. am.

Monday, 6-22-09 @ 7:00 p.m.

A group will be meeting tonight for a billboard run. Park right at the start of the dirt road for some fun in the sand!

Ginny, I have 5 miles easy scheduled, but I think I can make the billboards work for me if I run them easy, not hill repeats, just steady easy running. (Although, no run at the billboards on those hills is easy). My coach is out of pocket, so I can't confirm, but I am thinking, slow and easy. I can warm up and cool down, with 3m of billboards in between. So, I will meet you there.

Ok - The Shell station at 6:30 pm it is. We will w/u for 1 mile behind the Shell, and then head over to the billboards for out and back, and the out and back again(about 3 miles). Then back over to the Shell to c/d 1 mile. Total of 5 miles, with 3 of the 5 miles being hills. Feel free to change the plan to works best for you. If you just want to do the billboard hills and use the hills as your warm-up, you could meet us on the service road at 6:45.

Don't forget your water and Gatorade, or whatever you want to drink.

Try to be there

 Ms. Ginny ...
I would like to join ya'll, but I will have to finish at the dojo first. The last time I do the billboard - I did it first and then went to the dojo ... I learned my lesson the hard way (as usual).

I hope ya'll don't mind me showing up - I know I move at a snail's pace!

Joe

It's definitely an open invitation. No pace requirements. Walk, jog, or run, everyone get's a good workout in, no matter what the pace.

I hope you all had a good run/walk. I decided that I needed to stick to my plan so I worked out this morning. I need to do my final stadium workout tomorrow and I was afraid that if I did the BB walk (for me) I'd not be able to do tomorrow's workout.

Hey Becky - we missed you at the run/walk.

Tonight we had a good group with some "new to the billboard run" runners. Raland, Delaina, and Jason joined us for their first run on the billboards. Delaina, Jason, and I ran a good portion of the Renaissance half near each other. We didn't know each other at the time, but they kept passing me going up the hills (of course) and then I would pass them going down the hills or on the flat parts. Delaina went on to finish well ahead of me. Jason was well ahead of us. And Raland and I finished near each other. It was great to meet some new runners. Looking forward to running with them again.

We also had Charles, Audrey, Jim, Vicki and Dawn - always nice to run with these guys too.

What was I thinking? I decided to do my 5 "easy" miles at the billboards. There just isn't an easy. You can walk or roll down the hills, it's not easy!! Anyway, I did pace myself well, I didn't get crazy and sprint so all in all a good workout (just not a recovery run)!!

It was good seeing some new people out on the hills, Delaina, Jason, and Raland!! They are all strong runners who are just going to get stronger and faster!! Delaina sounded like she may already be getting that Marathon bug!! You know, the one where you do one marathon with no plans of ever doing another, then you end up like Kily doing it once a month. I still can't drag myself to do one.......yet!! I can't remember if it was Jason or Raland who wanted to know why anyone would do a half marathon 2x!! I'm with him!!

Anyway, hope everyone comes back to do this run again. (It sure would be a killer to do by yourself)!! Misery loves company!!

Were you planning on doing this run? I just watched you limping out to your truck!! I am thinking not a good idea!! As for me, I am getting ready to do hill repeats today, so I will do a recovery run tomorrow. If a group wants to meet out that way and just run some easy miles behind the gas station, I am up for that!

I ran a tempo run today so I will not be up for the billboards tomorrow. My next hill workout is not until Monday July 13th.
