Raul is in Colombia working on his dissertation -- not sure how long he'll be there.

Raul must be in Colombia, not "Columbia" - according to this (which I believe Raul shared via email awhile ago), you would never want to go to Columbia...

Hi you all!
Everything is going fine down here. I´ll be back in Hattiesburg next week. I have not run or trained any single mile since March. Well.... I just showed up for a 10K local race in Bogota two weeks ago (8.000 feet over the sea level!) just to check the effects of the altitute, "0" (nothing) training, and not-running shoes on an old, fat, lazy ex-jogger body. I survived and managed to finish the race in 50:12. Of course, I was hurt the next 48 hours!

Congratulations to everyone who have participated in the club events. You all are doing a great job!

See you around!
Raul

Don't feel bad. I haven't done any training either. In fact beginning to enjoy it.

Oh No!

Postby ryderruns on Wed Jun 18, 2008 9:44 am

Oh No! Keith---just last night at our Tuesday track group I was talking about cross training and the importance of weight training and ab work. I used you as an example of someone who worked really hard at weight and ab work and how you did not run as much as I had thought. I said that I thought that you were so fast because of all the other things that you did.

Get thee back to running!

I bet Keith is still running, it is just his definition of what is running and what is training. His "run" would be my "train". I just bet, as Becky says, he is doing a lot of x-training along with his "jog".

He's Back

Postby ryderruns on Thu Jun 26, 2008 5:38 pm

Those of you who have been missing Nestor Raul Anzola will to happy to know that he is back. He says he ran once while he was gone. I guess that means that he will be doing the half marathon this weekend.

I know what you did...

Raul:

With this danged thing called the internet, it is very difficult for you to hide. I know where you were and what you did on Saturday. I'll be nice and let you tell the full story. Here's a clue: he competed in four events and won his AG in all four. That's pretty good for someone who claims to have run only once in the past two months.

I'm waiting for the full story.

hahaha! YES... I won my age group in all the events 8) but.......JUST because everyone else who competed that day in the track and field meeting was at least 4 years younger or one year older than me. In other words.. there was not any merit in the awards I collected (however, I took a picture of them just to joke about it). In fact, in one of the events I finished dead last overall among 22 runners!!!
If I get a chance, I will write a little report tomorrow.
The merit of the sport activity was that I managed to survive the heat and the tireness during the day! I am not a spring chicken anymore! the four events consumed my whole "running energy" for the week!
